Sleepover fun

I slept over at my friend Hillary's house last night along with jordan and rachel. It was really fun hanging out with all of them again. we used to hang out just the four of us a lot more back in junior high school, but now we're usually with a bigger group or just different people. We ate tons of food and watched crappy movies and tv dating shows all while gossiping about everybody and their mother.

We woke up this morning, or this afternoon, around two. It was ridiculous. Later we went to see the princess and the frog. It's a good movie, I totally loved the shadowman!

So even though I'm tired and it's one in the morning I was bored. So I uploaded one of my sketches and played with the computer magic (my friend jordan has named me the artwizard, it's pretty legit) to make this:

I didn't do much, just played a little bit with some grays and whatnot.
My friend put something weird on his facebook. I don't want to put it here, but I wonder what it means. (firstly, this isn't about some weird oh my god, cute boy, type thing. He just said something weird and I'm wondering if he's ok. secondly, the cryptic message is because I don't have a diary and when I'm old I can look at this and be all, oh! I remember that! Instead of not remembering it at all)

Boredom in the Ho-Flo

Today my friends and I finally finished finals, and we were all incredibly happy to be free from yet more studying. All hopped up on "no-more-exam" endorphins, we went to the station to get some food, and catch up. I was just me, jordan, alex, maya, rachel, and jerbear. One thing I'll never understand, why do all students at my highschool go to the station so frequently? The food is expensive and not very good. We have so many other options, burrito station, eat rice, we could go get ice cream even! Yet we constantly return to purchase yet another mediocre meal. But anyways, when we had finished lunch we decided to head on over to my house (well, the girls did. we sort of ditched the boys) and watch the breakfast club and she's the man. great movies by the way. everyone should watch them!

Anyways, we eventually got bored after so much movie watching/lazing around/pizza eating, so we headed out to caribou to get hot chocolate and then we headed over to willow school. people keep telling us that there's a ladder to get onto the roof so we thought we'd check is out.

We couldn't find the freaking ladder!!! we walked all around that school to no avail. apparently the ladder was there during construction, and may not be there anymore, probably because ruffians of our sort keep climbing onto the school.

In the end we just hung out at the park and climbed the hill. Or tried to climb the hill, it was icy and rachel and jordan had boots with no traction, so really it was just maya and I laughing our asses off at the top of the hill while jo and rach struggled on. There was a really creepy guy on the hill though. He just stood there, staring at the trees the entire time we were at the park. He never moved, just stared into the distance. Anyways, we were bored, so we had camera fun and took a bunch of unnecessary pictures.
I have adobe illustrator for the next 25 days for a trial, so I thought I might as well use it:

It was creepy shit. We're going to find a way to get onto that school though. Why?
And that's the only reason we need.

Also, I'm bored and I have a sketchbook full of craziness. Here's a bonus pic.

Lists and markers make the best year ever

And I present to you, my friends, THE LIST.
It is an incredible compilation of the most exciting, innovative, dashing, and every other fun adjective you can think of list ever! It is the list of 2010. What is this amazing creature you may ask?
this is the list of all of the crazycool stuff we're doing before leaving for college.

You may notice that out of all of the beautifully amazing things we're doing on the list, the first is
"MARKERS! (ASSASSIN)"
Markers is a game of badassery where you kill by marking your mark with a marker (I know, I'm sorry about that sentence too).
So pretty much it's like assassin, but we can play it in school. Every person is given another person to kill (it goes in a circle), and once you've killed them you receive their mark. It's a vicious cycle of killing that ends when your mark... is YOU. or you know, whoever was cool enough to win gets themself.

We're planning on starting the game up next week once finals are over, because there's too much econ/calc/spanish hell going on to focus on imminent death just presently.

Bonus: My friend chubs had to carry a purse on the path today, maybe I'll make a drawing of it for this, it was pretty classy.

The Beginning...

Hey anyone who might read this ever, whether that be family, friends, complete strangers, or, well actually that's pretty much everyone ever :/
I'm a second semester senior in highschool in the south suburbs of chicago and next year I'll be attending college as an illustration major. To get a little bit of practice, and as a way to record this year's sure to be amazing memories, I've decided to create an illustrated journal. So go ahead and enjoy, I'll try and keep it interesting!

This is me, it's just a copy of my facebook profile pic, but... cooler. I'm 17 years old, soon to be 18, I'm half asian half white, and I love drawing, painting, reading, hanging out with friends, all of the good stuff! I'm not crazy about music, but sometimes I pretend to be so as to not be mocked mercilessly by my friends :D

I'll try to put up pics at least once a week, but I have a shitload of work to do for school, so it may not always happen.
Good luck on finals high school world!

Oh, and here's an extra drawing I made over break. This page just looks a little too bare.
